The mission of the Outback Hiking Club of Southern Utah is to
promote hiking and an appreciation of the outdoors. Established in
1988, the club’s long and distinguished history is a result of
the extraordinary voluntary efforts of its many members. Members plan
and lead day hikes, overnight trips, backpack trips and other outdoor
activities involving hiking. We promote responsible hiking through
programs and speakers. We also support local hiking venues by
assisting with trail maintenance, trail cleanup, and other associated
activities.
Our Club depends on its members for hike leaders,
officers, and other volunteer roles. We hope that in becoming a
member you will contribute to the successful functioning of our Club
and to outdoor/environmental practices and principles.
